Operations Manager
Lisburn | Permanent | Full-time (40 hours per week, Monday–Friday)
Salary: £50,000–£65,000 (depending on experience)
We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to strengthen our procurement, operational and compliance framework while supporting the continued growth of the business.
About the Role
Reporting to the Managing Director, you will be responsible for improving purchasing discipline, supplier relationships, forecasting, stock profile, rebate capture, contract control, operational systems and business compliance. You will also have accountability for our Warehouse function (through the Operations Supervisor) and Procurement team.
This is a strategic role focused on improving how the business buys, controls and manages stock, reducing operational risk and embedding practical systems, processes and compliance across the organisation. It is not a hands-on warehouse management position.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and improve procurement strategy and supplier relationships.
- Negotiate improved supplier terms, rebates and commercial arrangements.
- Improve forecasting accuracy, purchasing discipline and stock profile.
- Develop reporting to support informed operational decision-making.
- Support the implementation and continuous improvement of operational systems and processes.
- Develop and maintain accurate records of operational assets, oversee asset allocation and lifecycle tracking, and ensure equipment is maintained, compliant and available to support business operations.
- Oversee IT, telecoms, software and key operational contracts.
- Develop and maintain practical business compliance policies and controls.
- Coordinate health and safety compliance, training and record keeping.
- Lead and support continuous improvement across procurement, warehouse operations and compliance.
- Provide leadership, coaching and support to the Operations Supervisor and Procurement team.
About You
We're looking for someone with:
- Proven experience in procurement, operations, supply chain, business systems or operational management.
- Strong knowledge of supplier management, forecasting and stock control.
- Experience negotiating supplier terms and improving commercial performance.
- Experience improving operational controls, policies and compliance frameworks.
- Practical experience of health and safety compliance within a business environment.
- Strong IT literacy and confidence using business systems and reporting tools.
- Excellent communication, organisational and analytical skills.
- The ability to build strong relationships and drive continuous improvement across the business.
